Inspiratons and Confections
I believe it’s true that Artists create the world they like to live in.
In contrast to our modern lives that move with such rapid pace and uncertainty, my paintings offer a window for reflection, for respite, and for inspiration, celebrating the infinite beauty of nature through the simple means of creativity and paint.
Although sometimes highly interpreted, the basis of my work is from real locations and experiences. It's always a great joy to get back to the places that have been such a big part of my life. I live in the hustle bustle of Manchester, but return regularly to North Wales where I grew up, to the Lakes, the Peaks, the Dales and beyond.
COLLECTIONS
To the Coast
Almost exclusively, this collection is inspired by the North Wales Coast, Anglesey in particular, where for me the skies are what makes it so special. You’ll see that many of my coastal paintings are really paintings of those awesome skies!
Into the Hills
In my younger days, I spent many days collecting “scalps” of the highest peaks of North Wales and the Lake District. Though less spectacular, I’m equally likely these days to be exploring lowland hills and fells where the beauty is more subtle but equally as rich.
Back Home
Sometimes you really don’t have to go far to experience something that captures a feeling. Often quite ordinary, this really is a collection of those smaller day to day and often unexpected observations that capture the imagination.
